This two day event was held on July 4th and 5th, 2009 challenging an international field of outrigger canoe, kayak, and standup paddlers in a 23km+ course(shorter course for standup paddleboards) around Toronto Island, returning to Toronto Sailing and Canoe Club(TSCC). Our goal is to continue to build this event into one of the most enjoyable events for paddlers with a varied and competitive course through the heart of Toronto's waterfront.

Toronto Sailing and Canoe Club(TSCC) Outrigger Group continues to host this international event.  Already the largest outrigger canoe race in eastern Canada, in 2009 the Toronto Harbour International Challenge had 220 competitors. Over the past 5 years, the field has included current and former Canadian and American National paddling team members, crews from all the outrigger clubs in the Greater Toronto area, as well as several crews from the United States and Europe.

In 2008, we were honoured to have legendary Hawaiian paddlers Nappy and Anona Napoleon attend our event and conduct a clinic.  In 2007, John Puakea, Danny Ching and Aaron Napoleon also conduct clinics plus joined in the races.

In 2006, we were proud to become part of the East Coast Outrigger Racing Association schedule and our OC-6 races are part of their Point-Series Races.

We welcome all paddlers to participate in the races which include competitive kayaks, surfskis, plus single, two-person, and six-person outrigger canoes.

Paddlers must be capable of handling rough water conditions and large wakes.
